Usage Tips

Use coarse ground coffee for best results, similar to coarse sea salt texture. The recommended ratio is 1:16 to 1:18, meaning 1 gram of coffee for every 16 to 18ml of water. For the 150ml capacity, use approximately 9-10 grams of coffee. Heat water to 90-92°C (just below boiling), pour over grounds in the carafe, stir once to ensure all grounds are saturated, then let steep for 3-4 minutes. After steeping, press the plunger down slowly and steadily in one continuous motion, taking about 15-20 seconds to reach the bottom. Pressing too quickly can agitate grounds and create bitterness or allow sediment through the filter. Pour all coffee immediately after pressing to prevent over extraction. The protective plastic frame allows safe handling even when glass is hot, but always use caution with hot liquids. Clean thoroughly after each use by disassembling all parts and rinsing grounds completely, as coffee oils left behind turn rancid and affect future brews.
